Camporee Location

Camporee is hosted at the Grays Harbor County Fairground in Elma, Washington | 32 Elma McCleary Rd, Elma, WA 98541.

There is a lot of room to camp, play, and worship. And it’s just forty minutes from the coastal beaches and the Olympic Peninsula!

When May You Arrive?

Early Arrival – for those coming a long distance:

• Wednesday, September 8, 4:00 – 8:00 pm
• Thursday, September 9, 10:00 am – 2:00 pm

Regular Arrival:

• Thursday, September 9, 2:00-5:00 pm

Please be prepared to select one of  the following arrival times when you register, so Event Staff know how to plan. There will be a few activities available for the Early Arrival clubs from 2:00-5:00 pm.

• Early Arrival – Wednesday, 4:00 – 8:00 pm
• Early Arrival – Thursday, 10:00 am – 2:00 pm
• Regular Arrival – Thursday, 2:00 – 5:00 pm

Check-In

Upon arrival, you will be directed to your conference camping area.  Club Directors may then Check-in at the Camporee Office.

Check-In Time:  Thursday, September 9, 10:00 am – 5:00 pm.

Bring with you to Check-in:

1. Up-to-date roster of all attendees (adults & pathfinders)
2. Camporee Consent & Release forms for all attendees (adults & pathfinders)

At Check-in you will receive:

1. Camporee Pins & Patches for all attendees
2. Wristbands
3. Site Map & Program Details for each of your staff

Unit Method

We are using the Unit Method throughout the Camporee – this means Pathfinders are under the supervision of a staff member at all times.

FACILITIES & CAMPING

Water

Come prepared with containers to haul your clean water to your campsite.

Gray Water

Bring a 5-gallon bucket to haul gray water to tanks. All dish washing water must be screened and gray water must be emptied into designated depositories.

Showers & Restrooms

There will be restrooms and porta potties available near your camping area. There are a VERY limited number of showers on site (6 total!) so you may want to bring your own club shower solutions or rent a hotel room nearby for shower use. Onsite showers – 5-minute limit from entry to exit.

Will there be power for my CPAP?

While there is power in a few locations… you should not plan on it being available at your camp site. Come prepared to charge your unit.

Extra Vehicle Parking

Vehicles not needed for camping, cooking, storage or sleeping, should be parked in the designated Parking Area. This parking area will be accessible 24 hours a day.

Transportation on Site

We will have a limited shuttle service available for those who need it. Most places are a reasonable walking distance for activities, main program and parking.

Security

We will have security on duty just to make sure we know who is on site and to help in case you lose a Pathfinder!

Mobile Medical

One of the conferences is coordinating medical services for the event. If you have a sprained ankle or more, they can help.

Local Shopping and Supplies

What’s available around Elma?   The closest Walmart is 19 miles west of the Fairgrounds.

Dump Station

The closest RV dump station to the Grays Harbor Fairgrounds is the Elma Safety Rest Area Eastbound – located along State Route 8 (near milepost 2), roughly 3 miles away.

DAY TIME

We have great activities planned onsite and offsite on Friday. There will be honors, pilot honors, service projects, interactive presentations, and lots of recreation.

• There will be programming for Adventurer age children of staff members in the morning.  A parent/staff member must accompany child during programming.

A prayer room will be available for those who want to lift-up the Camporee in prayer, as well as, for those who have prayer requests, those seeking prayer support, or those who would like to pray for others.

NIGHT TIME

Speaker

Our speaker each evening is Rich Aguilera.  In 2008 Rich Aguilera left his 16-year career in architecture to dedicate his life and creative skills to producing resources for kids and families that honor and give glory to God and help connect people with their Creator! His ministry work includes writing books, producing TV shows and movies, touring live events, and producing God’s Great Earth!

Rich is married and has two sons in college. He also speaks three languages and has visited 88 countries doing live events, film shoots, mission trips, archaeological digs, and just plain ol’ traveling.

Special features at Camporees are awesome and the ones we have planned are no exception! Sorry, no spoilers here…just know that they will be great!

Grand Pathfinder Parade

• Friday, 6:30 pm – is the camporee parade.
• Class A uniform should be worn.  If club doesn’t have a Class A uniform, you may wear Field Dress uniform (matching t-shirts with scarves, if possible).
• Club Banner and flags are appropriate to bring and appreciated, but not required.

Prayer Wall

Prayer is a key component of a Jesus follower’s life and critical as we answer the call to GO where Jesus leads us to serve Him. You’re invited to share your prayer requests and praises on the camporee prayer wall each day. Every night, our Pathfinder prayer team will choose from the requests and praises on the wall and pray over them from the front. All remaining cards will go to our camporee prayer team to make sure every request and praise is specifically lifted up to the throne of grace.

Teen Café

Teen Café is just for teens, ages 13+ (including TLT’S).  Gather at the Teen Cafe every night for 1 hour, immediately following the Night Time Program, to hang out, participate in fun activities, and have refreshments.

Theme Song

Theme songs are fun to learn and fun to sing! You don’t have to wait to get to the Camporee to learn our song! It’s right here, right now! This theme song will challenge YOU to follow God’s call on your life!  It will be posted here as soon as it is completed.

SABBATH

God’s Spectacular Outdoors

Sabbath morning and afternoon is dedicated to God’s second book – Nature!  Clubs will enjoy God’s amazing creation at the coast with a Sand Sculpting Extravaganza or Olympic National Park. Pack a sack breakfast and lunch. Let’s Go!

Baptism

We don’t want to waste a great opportunity. Before camporee is done, everyone will have an opportunity to make or renew their commitment to following Jesus. We kind of think it’s a big deal…big enough to include in our program. God thinks it’s a big deal too and He celebrates those decisions. If you want to take your public stand for Jesus at camporee, let your Pathfinder Director know and they’ll help you make arrangements for your special moment Sabbath evening as part of the evening program.

Saturday Night Closing Program

This will be a meaningful and fun celebration of our time together.

Camporee Store Open

The Camporee Store will be open for 1 hour after the Nighttime Program, for last minute purchases.

Registration

Be sure to register online by August 25, and Check-In on arrival.

Arrival Times

Event Team members (coordinators, program staff, etc.) may arrive on Wednesday, 9:00 am.

Camping

We have a designated area for Event Team staff to camp.  75 RV sites with water and electricity are available on a first register basis. The RV sites are a reasonable fee and can be reserved when you register online.
